This wood burning fireplace (house built in 1959) in the living room seemed ideal to my client. The seller reported that the chimney flue had been sealed because a damper had not been installed. When I looked up into the flue I observed that sheetrock was blocking the flue. I was able to move the sheetrcok back and I was suprised to find that there was no flue or chimney, only wood framing! I also observed burnt framing next to the brick chimney for the den fireplace, which contained gas logs.
